Childhood:

Helen Keller was born on 27th June of 1880 to parents Captain Arthur H. Keller and Kate Adams Keller. She was not born blind or deaf; it was not until nineteen months of age that she came down with an illness described by doctors as "an acute congestion of the stomach and the brain," which could have possibly been scarlet fever or meningitis. Her life became dark and silence. After this unknown disease, Helen became blind and deaf.

Education:

On May 1888, Keller started attending the Perkins Institute for the Blind.In  In 1894 Keller and Sullivan moved to New York to attend the Wright-Humason School for the Deaf, and to learn from Sarah Fuller at the Horace Mann School for the Deaf.Helen Keller briefly attended The Cambridge School for Young Ladies before her learning abilities inspired an admirer Mark Twain to sponsor her to attend Radcliffe College of Harvard University from where she graduated in 1904 at the age of 24 becoming the first blind person to earn a college degree. Anne Sullivan sat by her side all through her college classes, helping her to interpret lectures.

Her autobiography:

 Keller believed that the task of writing an autobiography was a difficult one as many factors would affect the narrative.

Helen found that she did not have as many early memories as she would like,except for big events, because at the time she was writing her memories of more recent events were stronger than those of early events.l

Despite all this, Helen Keller still wrote " The story of my life". She believed that people would be interested in hearing about how she overcame the challenges of being blind and deaf.

Helen died:

Helen Keller died in her sleep in 1968 a few weeks before turning 88. She had suffered a series of strokes in 1961, which along with old age, led to declining health.she died on 1 June 1968
